The mission of The Steve Francis Foundation is to create educational and recreational opportunities for at-risk youth.

Steve Francis believes that youth need encouragement to dream and achieve without boundaries. His dream to provide hope to youth growing up in troubled neighborhoods with challenging circumstances and create opportunities for them came to fruition in the summer of 1999. A month prior to being selected as the Second Overall Pick in the 1999 NBA Draft, Steve Francis launched The Steve Francis Foundation. His first endorsement check from Reebok provided the funding for his initial project, a $10,000 donation to the Takoma Park Recreation Department for after-school youth programs and athletic equipment. Ten years later, The Steve Francis Foundation is guided by the same mission and continues to motivate, encourage and empower underprivileged youth.
