Youth from across Houston shared in the spirit of the season with Steve and Shelby Francis and Santa Claus at the 12th Annual Holiday Extravaganza. Hosted annually by The Steve Francis Foundation, the Extravaganza provides at-risk youth with a day full of fun and cheer during the holidays.

A 2006 Scholar Recipient, Savannah Winters has followed her dreams to Los Angeles to work with Royal Interactive Studios. Although a huge change for her, Los Angeles has provided her with an opportunity to achieve her goals as a dancer and producer. She graduated from the University of Houston in 2010, majoring in Corporate Communications and Marketing.

With the holidays upon us, The Steve Francis Foundation hosted its annual Turkey & Trimmings events again this year in Houston and Takoma Park, Maryland. Over 1,000 families in need received a full Thanksgiving meal to prepare at home with their loved ones from Francis and his partners.

Mary Ann Rodriguez graduated from the University of St. Thomas in 2010 with a degree in Marketing and minor in Spanish. She then began working full-time at The Greensheet, a leading free classified paper in Texas, gaining experience in entry level management. Mary Ann was recently promoted to Project Manager before being the Classified Supervisor. As a Project Manager, she works with various departments throughout the company to coordinate a variety of projects that are adding growth to the company. Working for The Greensheet has taught Mary Ann how to prioritize, communicate with others, and keep deadlines. She is looking forward to her new phase and career growth. |
